For this particular bit the mouth piece has an anatomically formed port.
The special form of the mouth piece and the bent lateral pieces perfectly suit the anatomy of the horse’s mouth. The special bit form gives more space to the horse’s tongue and is hence especially suitable for horses that react sensitively to a higher pressure on the tongue.
Why choose a double-broken Stübben Steeltec bit ?
There are many reasons to choose for a double - broken Snaffle. First and most important reason to do so is that there is no pressure on the palate and because of that a balanced weight distribution on tongue and jaw. This is the reason why horses can easily be ridden on the bit and that it gives no nutcracker-effect. The horse will also easier forgive your mistakes when riding with a strong hand or pulling on the reins.
Why choose a Stübben Steeltec Loose Ring Snaffle ?
The Loose Ring Bit has rings that can slide freely. This makes it possible for the horse to adjust the position of the snaffle in its mouth. Because of that the horse will also relax its jaw and chew the bit. The consequence is also that the horse will accept the bit easier.
When the rider picks up the reins, the rings will start to move and make the bit position correctly in a simple way.
Because of all these advantages young horses or inexperienced riders should always start with a bit like this to get more experience before using other snaffles, like a D-ring bit.
